July 2016 Volunteers

July certainly flew by! LBFE hosted, staffed, and coordinated 30 events for elders around the city this month! This is all possible because of students, retirees, and folks willing to volunteer their time. Special thank you to everyone who drove elders to a picnic, put on a show, visited, and led social and educational activities in elder buildings. We’d like to give a quick shout out to:

Phil Bergman & The Flying Leap performed one awesome concert at the LBFE office as part of JP Porchfest.

Milestones Day School & Transitions Program students led 10 activities in 3 buildings around the city.

The Driver Dream Team transported 16 elders to a picnic in Brookline at Larz Anderson Park

Friendship & Flowers volunteers visited 12 elders in Jamaica Plain, Mission Hill, and Charlestown.

Friendly visitors provided companionship to dozens of elders.

Want to get involved with your group or just by yourself? It’s easy! Come to an orientation on the second Saturday of each month- and then if you have time, visit and deliver flowers to an elder. Questions? Send a note to Airlie Parham at aparham.bos@littlebrothers.org.
