Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, Granny Potty Mouth encourage you to visit an older adult on Valentine’s Day
JAMAICA PLAIN – Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE), Boston Chapter, is partnering with YouTube star Peggy Glenn (Granny Potty Mouth) to encourage people to spend Valentine’s Day with an older adult. The City’s Aging in Boston report shows that 38% of individuals over the age of 60 live alone and will spend a holiday based around love and partnership on their own. This campaign uses the signature irreverent humor of Peggy Glenn to urge community members to #SpreadTheLove and #EndTheLoneliness.
Looking for a fresh take on Valentine’s Day? This is it. From mid January to Feb 13th we’ll be promoting this video online through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, it’s already had hundreds of shares and thousands of views across channels. We need YOU, our friends in the Boston media to help get the word out and go viral. If we can encourage people to spend just 30 minutes with an older family member, neighbor, or friend we can start breaking down the silos that keep the elderly disengaged from the rest of our community.
