Volunteers spend time with elders that live in an assisted living home. This opportunity is offered on the second Saturday of each month.
The City Sites program aims to create connections across generations by connecting groups of volunteers from local universities to older residents in senior living communities around Boston. Volunteers coordinate activities with residents during weekly social activities.
We mark Thanksgiving Day, Chanukah and Christmas Day. Volunteers provide companionship while delivering nutritious holiday meals, and provide transportation for those elderly friends able to attend holiday celebrations.

Volunteers and staff provide to vulnerable elders services (free of any charges) not provided by other organizations, while offering essential social support.
LBFE’s Pop-Up Pantry allows volunteers to meet and spend time with the elders they are serving while empowering elders to “shop” independently without incurring any cost. In addition to meeting some really great people, our volunteers from corporations, schools and community groups see first-hand the challenges that prevent people from having access to healthy, culturally-appropriate groceries.
