Summer is nearly over, but LBFE isn’t slowing down. This past month, LBFE hosted, staffed, and coordinated 30 events for elders and volunteers around the city. We’d like to give a quick shout out to folks who helped us make these programs happen:
Boston College First Year Students met with residents at Park and Talbot Congregate Housing in Dorchester for an ice cream social.
Milestones Day School & Transitions Program students led 6 activities in 3 buildings around the city.
Friendship & Flowers volunteers visited 15 elders in Jamaica Plain, Mission Hill, and Charlestown.
Friendly visitors provided companionship to 42 elders
Want to get involved with your group or just by yourself? It’s easy! Come to an orientation on the second Saturday of each month- and then if you have time, visit and deliver flowers to an elder. Questions? Send a note to Airlie Parham at aparham.bos@littlebrothers.org.
