Here is your monthly round up of some of the latest news from our office. There is always something going with us. We have opportunities to learn, engage, and support our programs this summer. Check out our calendar for more details and for online registrations!

Learn:

LBFE Celebrates Pride Month with the LGBT Aging Project Join us for a training to become better friends and allies on Thursday June 16th from 12-2pm at our office in Jamaica Plain. All are welcome.

Support:

Live at The Lyric! presents Peter and the Starcatcher Support our programs to benefit Boston’s elders on Wednesday June 22nd at 7:15 pm at The Lyric Stage in the Back Bay. 

Engage:

3rd annual JP Porchfest! Come experience the arts festival on porches all over Jamaica Plain! Listen to great music around our neighborhood and be sure to stop by our office to check out our band and yard sale to benefit LBFE. Volunteers are needed to help with our yard sale.

Picnics in the Park We will host two picnics this summer at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline. Drivers are needed to escort 2-3 elders.

Fair Foods Thursdays We are happy to support Fair Foods @ 125 Armory Street in Jamaica Plain. Help unload, pack, and distribute 12 lbs bags of fresh produce to our elderly friends! Every other Thursday, June 9th- July 21st. No sign-up required, just show up.

Northeastern University honors LBFE We were honored to be chosen by the Service-Learning Program at Northeastern as its community partner highlight at the 4th annual Pancakes and Partnerships breakfast. We had a fabulous year with both the Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Programs. Thank you to Northeastern students, faculty and staff for your time, energy and creativity!
